After a day of shopping at Lenox or Phipps, Hashiguchi, Jr. is a close restaurant for great sushi. It is located in a strip mall right across the street from Lenox near the Swiss Hotel. When you walk in you will see the sushi bar to the right, tables in a small dining area to the left. I noticed one of the menus was written completely in Japanese. When my son needed to use the restroom, we saw that several patrons had neatly lined their shoes up against one wall and were dining barefoot! We knew the food was going to be good and authentic. We were not disappointed. After we finished eating edamame, the rainbow roll my husband ordered was beautifully presented. He also had a broth with sudon noodles that he really liked. My son ordered his favorite: yakitori chicken with a side of rice. I would suggest this for any child who has not eaten Japanese food before. The chicken is lightly glazed in teriyaki sauce and served on a stick! A california roll (crab meat, avocado) is also a good choice for someone new to this type of cuisine.
For Japanese food, this restaurant proved to be very reasonable, too. With six diners (one of whom was a child), our tab was only $120. That was quite a bargain. My husband and I have easily spent that much by ourselves at other sushi bars eating unagi rolls and drinking sake!
I noticed Hashiguchi has another location though I have not eaten there. It is located at:
3000 Windy Hill Rd.
Suite A-5
Marietta, GA

If you live in Cobb County, it might be easier to check that location out first. If the Atlanta location is any indication, I am sure the Cobb restaurant is also quite good.
