McKinnon's Lousiane Restaurant

This restaurant was recommended by the concierge in the JW Marriott. She made last minute reservations for us. The restaurant manager (and owner I think) made an extra effort to fit us in. The service was a little slow, but very friendly.

I had crab cakes that were very tasty. The restaurant uses the cajun style of preparation. While I'm not an expert, the crab cakes tasted like they were fresh, and the prepartion accented the positive qualities of crab cakes. They had a very light texture, but by the time I was done, I had no room for dessert. I was pleasantly full, but not stuffed.

The restaurant also advertises 25 dollar per couple specials for early diners. You get some choices off of the main menu. We were too late to try it, but it looked like a good bargan.

The owner/manager seemed invested in his restaurant. When I complimented him on the food, he gave his card. The hostess, who might be a partner or wife, arranged the collar of my jacket in a motherly way as we left. This left us with warm memories of the friendly nature of the people who work in this restaurant.
