La Paz

La Paz is a chain (but not a franchise) of nine restaurants throughout the Southeast. Several of these locations are in the Atlanta area. I had the pleasure of eating with friends at the La Paz located in Vinings not too long ago. We had two children with us, both in elementary school, so we doubly appreciated the relaxed (but nice) atmosphere and quick service we received once seated.

I would have to say that even though we had a fairly early dinner on a Friday night, we still had to wait a little more than half an hour for a table (This is a short wait without reservations if eating AFTER 7 PM just about anywhere GOOD in the Vinings area!). We did not mind, however, because this La Paz was the ONLY La Paz with a South of La Paz Imports Store connected to it. We had great fun looking at some of the funky Mexican art (skeletons smoking cigars to honor The Day of the Dead, which was near the time of our visit), and I bought the kids inexpensive, Mexican soldier hats to help entertain them.

When we did sit down for our meal, my husband got an exceptional margarita with dinner, and all of our food proved to be very good. The menu at La Paz is extensive, and the spinach in my quesadilla was fresh and yummy. Everything was very reasonably priced, too. Especially for Atlanta. The tab for six people (Granted, two of the meals were from the cheaper, kids' menu.) was only a little over $80. I am sure I will eat at La Paz again.
