this place is one of my longstanding favorites (and that's after years of eating in places all over this town). they serve a wonderful sushi menu as well as a full thai menu that is nearly identical to its sister restaurant (just across the street), surin of thailand. both the sushi and the thai options are excellent. my personal favorites are the thai basil rolls and the spicy shrimp maki roll. there are periods when i eat here (or take out) three to five times a week. the only downside to this restaurant is that is no longer a neighborhood secret and can tend to get EXTREMELY crowded on weekend nights and sometimes even as early as mid-week. since they don't take reservations, you should be prepared to relax and have a drink at the bar while you wait for your table (maybe even two or three if you'd prefer a table on the back terrace during the temperate months). the sushi bar is always a quicker way to get to your food faster and is never a disappointment in terms of the right-before-your-eyes entertainment.

Harry and Sons is a good place to go for lunch if you like Japanese or Thai. They do both very well. They also have a lot of $1 sushi rolls that are really quite good, and the restaurant is only a short walk from Key Lime Pie. In fact, they have a great sushi menu in general. After relaxing in a spa, a light and healthy lunch is very appealing, but we couldn't do without the sake. If that's not your drink of choice, there is a wine list and several good Japanese beers available as well.
