Good Lunch Spot

Good Lunch Spot

We visited Pita Paradise our second day in Maui. Located in Kihei Kalama Village, the pitas were fresh and hot and the help was friendly and sociable. The flatbreads were fresh and tender and there were a variety of choices of meat. My husband had the pork and I had the local fish special. It was a nice lunch option. Probably not our favorite place to eat during the trip, but the food was fresh and tasty and we had no complaints.

Best Meal I Ever Had

I happened upon Pita Paradise when I first arrived on Maui and it was the best meal I have ever tasted. I would like to point out that you CAN get pitas at night time now. The lamb gyro was delicious as was the teriaki chicken pita. And do not leave here without trying the home-made Baklava ice cream cake... :) *****

Dinner was very bad and over-priced. I ended up having Italian (chicken parm) and chicken Caesar salad ($15 salad and very, very small) because (SURPRISE) there are no pita bread items for dinner in 'Pita Paradise'. To sum it up I would stay away from dinner and Mediterranean restaurants should not try and serve Italian food.

Pita Paradise

Who’d have thought that the best place to eat on Maui would be called "Pita Paradise?" This tiny, easily overlooked restaurant in the Kihei Kalama Village is a gem. Recommended by the concierge at a resort, this little Greek restaurant is run by Christine and John Arabatzis. Hands-on owners, John catches the fish fresh every morning, and Christine was our server for the evening.

Clean, friendly, and delicious food—what more could you ask for? Be sure to order an appetizer of ziziki bread, a grilled pita with a blend of cheese and herbs. My Greek salad topped with ziziki sauce was a wonderful change of pace. Others at the table enjoyed the kabobs with vegetables and rice. My husband tried the special of the evening, the seared ahi, and pronounced the tender dish the best meal he'd had the whole trip.

This restaurant is an unexpected delight!

Chuck’s Steakhouse has closed for good, however just south of there is a place called "Pita Paradise" that has the best meals in Kihei! They serve large portions at very reasonable prices too. The "Gyros" Pita Dinner (grilled lamb, Greek style) was only $10.95 if I remember right. The meals were so good, we ate there twice!
