Loved the Fish Tacos

I had the fish tacos on two occasions. Both times, they were excellent. It's a great place to eat on the cheap. The local ambulance and police eat there, so you know it's got to be good.

Best Fish Tacos?

I love fish tacos, tried this place because it is mentioned by several publications as the best place for fish tacos. Well, I thought it was the worst fish tacos that I had ever had. I was told by the youngster behind the counter that they use fresh Ahi for their tacos, well who would be able to know if that were true. I guess they saute it for their preparation, but it is ruined in the process and does not resemble good fresh fish in any way! Did I come on a bad day? All I can say is "Best fish tacos" ???? Are you kidding me? No thanks!

We had worked up an appetite after a morning of scuba diving. Our dive instructor recommended Maui Tacos in Kihei, about a 5-minute drive from our dive site.

Three of us ordered the Lahaina Burrito with chicken (on advice of the cashier) and my son ordered ground beef tacos. There was no seating open at the restaurant, so we ordered to go and walked across the street to a beach park to eat at a picnic table in the shade.

Can there be anything better than a great picnic by the ocean in Hawaii? The Lahaina burrito was great with rice, black beans, cheese, and salsa. We didn’t love the dark meat chicken, though. I opened my tortilla and picked out the chicken, then poured on some pico de gallo from the salsa bar. Yum!

It is a great place to grab a quick bite. They use fresh ingredients and are vegetarian-friendly! They are all over the island, so they are a don't-miss place to eat.

Maui Taco has fresh-made Mexican dishes. This is a fast-food restaurant. Everything is made fresh daily. They serve a wide variety of burritos, tacos, quesadillas, nachos, and salads. There is a fixin's bar with unlimited chips and salsa.

The owners came from L.A. and incorporated traditional Mexican food with a touch of Hawaiian flavor. This is a great place to feed a family on a budget.

Maui Taco has another location in the Napili Shopping Center, as well.
