This is one place I really wanted to give a glowing write up to. I love good Greek food and Palm Springs needed a good Greek restaurant. I had hoped this one would be it.

We have eaten here twice. The people could not be friendly or happier to see customers. They fall all over themselves to make things good for you. However that falls short when the food just isn't good.

Once I ordered the pistachio and it was way overcooked. The macaroni noodles were as hard as rocks. The Greek salad is okay, but I have had many that were much better. I have also had the calamari and it was tough and rubbery in taste.

They also have some American favorites on the menu like steak, salmon, and meatloaf. If the Greek food isn't good, I am not sure if I would try the American.

The place is small with some bad Greek murals on the walls. This last time there were only three tables filled for lunch and most of the lights were out, giving it a depressing feel. The bar area seems more like a storage area with boxes and books piled high on the bar.

The have a small stage and when they opened they did belly dancing shows. I guess that didn't work as they now have salsa, mambo, reggae, and DJs in hopes of drawing in the crowds.

They also offer what the call THE BIG FAT GREEK BUFFET for only $5.95. I have seen it advertised, but both times we were here for lunch it was not up and running.

Again, the family who runs this place could not be nicer or more willing to make you feel welcomed. However the bad food and depressing decor will keep us home. I am sorry Olympia is just not worth the trip.
