This place has the best Thai food in the desert! Thai places are springing up like weeds here. But this is one of the first and still the best. We love it.
The restaurant is located on Palm Canyon to the north and a little out of the thick of the main tourist action. When you arrive it's not much to look at, but don't judge a book by it's cover.
Everything is cooked to perfection! Our favorite dish is the Green Mountain. It's so good I seldom stray from this old favorite. Although I have had their chicken curry and it too is worth the trip here. The kitchen totally understands spices.
The waitstaff is all Thai and very polite and sweet. The owner is always on duty and she makes sure everyone is happy. She usually will take time and stop by the tables to chat a bit and make sure you are enjoying your stay here. I have to say Thai Smile is a perfect name for this place, as smiles are everywhere.
The restaurant isn't much to look at inside or on the outside, it is somewhat plain. Inside is clean but sparse. But the service and food make this a stop you must make!
They have opened a second fancier Thai Smile in Palm Desert. It's new and very Palm Desert, it looks sharper but serves the same great food. However the old run down Thai Smile will always have a place in my heart. New Thai places keep springing up, but none compare to Thai Smile. Check it out and you too will leave with a Thai Smile!
