Le Village Buffet

The breakfast buffet at Le Village was the first place we chose to visit on our trip. It was difficult to chew with our mouths hanging open! We found ourselves sitting at a table in what was an outside café setting. The streetlights, buildings, and painted sky ceiling were just plain breathtaking. The waitress even spoke with a French accent! The food was presented in mock-up storefronts grouped by food type. The quality of food was superb. I loved the fresh crepes and eggs Benedict.

From each province of France, foods are indicitive of that area. Scallops and great cheese, alongside lox with capers, line the salad bar. Fish and lamb stews, dessert crepes, chocolate mousse, pear tarts, scout it out and then pick out what you want. Service is slow. Order coffee with dessert ahead of time.

Paris manages to inject something special into the very tired casino buffet scene. Five sections, each featuring a different province, and excellent selections from each. The food is of excellent quality and the staff is pleasant. The decor is great and the whole package is well above average.
