Circus Buffet

My father wanted to go to Circus Circus for brunch. I suggested Aladdin, but he really wanted the Circus Buffet. He claimed that, according to his AAA Tourbook, it received three diamonds. So we went there for the brunch buffet. We ended up parking at the wrong lot and walked a long distance to the buffet restaurant. As we walked to the front of the hotel near registration, we passed the visitor’s lot where we should have parked. We followed the signs to the buffet, and then we got lost. The signs failed to direct us to the left. We stopped to ask directions and found our way.

It was $10 per person for lunch. As I perused the food, I gravitated towards the breakfast foods while my aunt veered towards dinner ones. My father and uncle went for lunch. I checked out the breakfast bar, and it was pretty decent. I got some potatoes, scrambled eggs covered in cheese and bell peppers, corned beef, a couple sausages, and a couple of French toast sticks. The potatoes were bland. I have had better in public school cafeterias. The eggs were quite good. I wish I had helped myself to more of those. The sausages were good, and the French toast sticks were okay. The corned beef was nasty. I wondered if that’s the way the Irish eat it, or if the Circus Buffet made a mess of it. I had cranberry juice to wash it down.

My uncle and aunt loaded up on the meat. My aunt went crazy with the fried chicken and broiled fish. My father and uncle were commenting on how salty the cream of potato soup was. After finishing my breakfast, I had a bowl of the salty soup. It was really good, except that it was a bit too salty. The cooks need to lay off the salt. Then I tried some of the desserts, like a cream puff and other such pastries. These were actually very good, especially with coffee. My aunt had tea with milk while my uncle had coffee after their lunch. My uncle and father continued to eat long after I had already finished my meal.

I have to say that I expected the food to be very bland, like my prior experience at the Sahara. The Circus Buffet is much better. I actually enjoyed my meal despite my prejudice towards buffets.

Alright, so we ate here the morning after we got off the plane. Originally, I honestly didn't want to because I had hoped to go to Aladdin or something later and needed to save my appetite, but apparently my dad was starving, so whatever... it's cheap right?

It was honestly not as bad as other people say. I mean it's just breakfast! And I think we went at a brunch time or something because some lunch foods came out, too. Sure, some foods looked and felt a little rubbery, but with lots of choices, most tasted pretty flavorful and were kept warm at least! I liked the layout of the place, too, nice and big. Now I will jump right into my recommendations for what you should (could) get. Yeahhh, I ate even more than this, hence my bloated stomach afterwards and non-eating for rest of day...

Tater tots (crispy)
Eggs with cheese and veggies
Baked fish (I had about three filets of this)
Mushroom and roast beef stew
Sugar-free crème pie with banana filling (SO GOOD). I ate it without knowing it was sugar free, and then I had a second slice, hehe - one slice is huge!)
Croissants (hot and fresh)
Instant cappuccino
Danish pastries
Make-your-own tortilla wrap

Food was great and well prepared. They had a very large variety of food and Desserts. The staff was very helpful with assisting a handicapped member of our party. I recommend the buffet very much.

We took our breakfast here most mornings. It didn't start until about 8am, which meant a bit of a queue would build up, but once you're in there's a great choice of stuff, not all of it bad for you.

We went when breakfast was still out, but they also offered fettucine, roast beef tips, and noodles and vegetables. Of all the buffets we experienced in Las Vegas, this was one of our favorites. Food not only looked good, it tasted good. Lots of seating so the line moved fast.
