JJ's is one of the most popular restaurants in town for both Thais and visitors from abroad, due to its varied menu, attractive ambience and ideal location, right next to Tha Pae Gate. It occupies part of the same building as the Montri Hotel, and there is a separate outlet for their bakery in the hotel lobby.

With its huge windows and bright lights, the restaurant has a clean feel to it. It produces tasty, if a bit pricey, Thai and Western dishes, a great range of cakes and ice creams, and some of the best coffee in town. The air conditioning offers a respite from the heat outside, and its central location makes it an ideal spot for people watching. Separate dining areas on different levels allow for some privacy.
