Description
The name of this pub is the Yiddish term for the small East European villages to which many Jews trace their origins. True to the folksy theme, this is a neighbourhood establishment, populated largely by blue-collar locals. With its steel sign, however, and minimalist decor, a better description of the style might be 'post-modern shtetl.' Still, an unaffected, 'come-as-you-are' attitude prevails—in the service as well, so be prepared to holler if they forget to bring your beer. This, incidently, is the pub's specialty, with a good selection on tap; the food, an uninspired assortment of Middle-Eastern/Israeli dishes, is not.
