Description
The Hebrew Israelite Community is comprised of African Americans who immigrated to Israel, initially, during the 1960's and 1970's from Chicago and Detroit. In accordance with tradition, they only eat all-natural, vegan-Kosher food. Thankfully, the public is invited to sample some of their delicious recipes at their Tel Aviv and Dimona (Southern Israel) restaurants. The food is so skilfully prepared and embodied with flavour that it is difficult to imagine it being dairy and meat free. Such examples include the tasty tofu-dogs and burgers. Most remarkable is the chocolate free “chocolate cake” made with carob and unrefined sugar.
