Wow! What an experience! Excellent, healthy food with an exquisite view of the bay and Golden Gate Bridge. Greens is in an old barrack in Fort Mason (near Fisherman's Warf) and is unique in its decor and appeal. Reservations are a must unless you arrive very early. The food is vegetarian and vegan. They don't offer anything with eggs because that destroys life. They do include milk products, however. The menu is large and everything is excellent and very well-presented. I really loved watching what was being delivered to the tables around me. Forget that it is a vegetarian restaurant and go to one of the best restaurants in San Francisco. You will not be disappointed.

Featuring breathtaking views of the Golden Gate Bridge on a sunny day, and a reputation as one of the best vegetarian restaurants in the country, Greens was high on my list of must-dos. I scheduled a business lunch with a colleague and settled in for a taste adventure. I ordered the "Monk's Lunch"- a three-course lunch prix fixe ($14) that changes daily according to what produce is available. I enjoyed a green garlic/potato/leek soup, a mushroom melt on toast with a side of pasta salad (penne, thin crunchy green beans, radicchio, capers and goat cheese), and a meyer lemon sherbet. The food was as amazing as the view. "Greens to Go" offers the same food experience for those looking for quality veggie takeout on their way to a picnic. Four-star yum!

When your teens become vegetarians, what's a mother to do? These same people who refused to eat their peas and carrots growing up, exsisting only on grilled cheese, french fries, peanut butter and hot dogs, now refuse steak! So here's to families who eat together and enjoy it! Everything is great! Be sure not to miss incredible food and desserts.
