No trip to Japan is complete without an evening in an izakaya, or traditional Japanese pub, and Sangokushi is the perfect place for this experience. You place your order, then the waiter will scream it out to the chefs behind the counter. Prices are reasonable here and the food is excellent. Try the grilled beef or port and chicken (prices start at JPY120 a skewer). There are stews, fish and seafood, with pickles and vegetables on the side. Stewed beef tongue is a bargain at JPY800. Draft or bottled beer is available, or follow the locals and try some sake.
