This is one of the best steakhouses in the world. George W. Bush has dined there and so have many famous people. The food is very, very expensive, but it's the best you can get. I highly recommend this restaurant, but make a resevation long before you want to dine there or count on good luck!!!

The vibe is happening and hopping as the bar spills out into the foyer. The wait staff is very efficient and helpful, but there's a hint of 'tude amongst the female staff if they suspect you're a male (or group of men) on the prowl. Why? It's a scene. Our waitress informed us that proposals, no matter how indecent, are the norm here. So dudes . . . be casual.

The steaks are delicous and the waitress previews raw steaks at your table before you order. Our waitress was perceptive enough to recommend a combo side of onion rings and fries which was perfect with my pepper steak and my partner's New York steak; onion rings are not on the menu, and have to be requested.

The shrimp cocktails are a good way to start at the bar, while you're waiting for your table, and will be carried to your table if it becomes ready before you're finished.

Maitre'd and wait staff really make for a fun night.

The staircase to the restroom displays rows of perfectly-hung pictures of local and world-famous celebrities.

Reservations are a must. We reserved one week in advance for a Friday night and the only available time was 10pm. It worked for us, since we're on PST anyway. So reserve ASAP.

Gibsons is all about big -- colossal servings of slabs of steak and seafood, huge bar selection, and sky-high celebrity quotient. Chicago mayor Richard Daley has his own table here. If you have reservations and you're still waiting, maybe it's because Jay Leno, David Letterman, Fergie, Jack Nicholson, Elizabeth Taylor and the Cusacks are around.
