This is a great hole-in-the-wall restaurant with awesome cheap eats. Nowhere in Boston can you go out for $40 for a couple. The menu is simple and the place is always crowded. Don't expect great service; the place is usually only staffed by a waitress who doubles as a hostess and the bartender, so she is overworked at times. They accept ash only, so make sure you stop at an ATM on the way. The decor is quirky, with album covers adorning and entire wall and a plastic Elvis over the bar. Give this one a try, but be prepared to wait for a table. If you are alone or there are just two of you, you can usually squeeze in at the bar and order dinner there.

Funky little restaurant in the South End with a very retro feel. Mostly twenty-something crowd who aren’t going there for a quick bite – you tend to hang out a while, so it may take some time for a table to open up. Eclectic menu that’s reasonably priced (mostly under $10). Cool wall art and fun music set the mood. Service isn’t quick, but it doesn’t really matter, as no one’s in a rush to leave.
