Da Umberto - Fantastic Food and Stellar Service

Da Umberto is one of my favorite restaurants in the City. Italian joints are not hard to come by here, but there are few as spectacular as Da Umberto. The staff treats you well know their menu and can suggest what is good from night to night. The bar is also top-notch. Whenever I go, I routinely get there early for a perfectly-made martini and the bar-top snack: garlic-soaked olives. Though they're known for their gnocchi, I have never been disappointed by their offerings, either pasta dishes or meat. The setting is not ideal for dates--it can get noisy--but a lot of fun for larger parties or dinner with the family. If you ask for something special, accommodations will just about always be made. Go out of your way for this place.
