Dropped into Ruby Foos for some late night Chinese food. The menu was solid and the staff was very attentive. We order six or seven different dishes but the standout was the Walnut Shrimp. Nicely done—not too sweet—the table devoured it and actually ordered more, definitely recommend.

Ruby Foo's is definitely a 'scene' with as much emphasis put on the atmosphere as the food. The restaurant is very spacious with a particularly cool wooden staircase and tasteful Asian decor. The bar is always crowded and many people choose to eat in the front. I prefer a table on the second level overlooking the first floor and the sushi bar. As for the food, I love the sushi. You will find several interesting combinations for sushi rolls (particularly suited to sushi novices) and top-notch raw sushi. I also like a lot of the Chinese and many other Asian dishes like the pad thai. Other food recommendations: the calamari, the baby back ribs and the pear buckle with ice cream.
You might want to try a cocktail as well (they have some really cool, fruity drinks that are all kinds of colors).
