I have been coming here regularly for a few years, and this place never gets old. Located near the corner of Broadway and Houston Street, this long standing establishment has never failed to please me. Inside the restaurant can be a bit too dark for some, but it was light enough so I could read my Conde Nast Traveler magazine. That's as bright as I needed it to be.This time I ordered from the lunch special menu: Ensalada de la Casa, Enchilada Suizas, and Chocolate Cake. The salad is one of few that I always eat. It is fresh and delicious—made with lettuce, pico de gallo, and shredded cheese— especially after I put some of their fantastic salsa on top... mmmmmmm, good. The chicken enchiladas come with tomatoes, lettuce, Spanish rice and black beans, cooked to perfection. The enchiladas are covered with a smooth green sauce that, although it is not spicy, adds a lovely depth too the plate. The best time to come is mid-afternoon, after all the business people have had their lunch, and right before dinner. At this time it is usually pretty empty and you can enjoy the attention from the staff. Although I have read on other websites that people have gotten bad service, that has never been my experience. In fact, my water and salsa bowl were refilled without asking. My waiter was very polite, friendly and fast. It took me only 30 minutes to order, eat, and be out of there. The lunch special is $12.95 and with a soda, your entire meal will cost about $15. The experience is not for those seeking luxury and 5-star entrees. But if you are looking for a fun, relaxing place in the middle of a major shopping area, this is a good choice. In the evenings, the restaurant offers karaoke, salsa, and special performances in the back.Amazing location, cool atmosphere, good food, great services, and fantastic prices make this a wonderful NYC restaurant.

Visit this cool, funky place for dinner and drinks. The ambience is wonderful, live Latin music complete with lanterns and pinatas!

It has great Mexican Fare all the traditional - burritos, fajitas, carne ranchera, tamales, chimichangas, empanadas, taquitos, and tacos, etc. Drinks include anything from frozen margaritas to the tequila bar.

You won't be disappointed with this experience!

Favorite Dish:
My favorite entree: Fajitas! (Chicken and Beef)

My favorite drink: Gonzalez Rita
(Tequila, triple sec, lime juice and a splash of orange juice. Served up or on the rocks.)

This Mexican restaurant is smack dab in the middle of Broadway like a dollop of guacamole on a long burrito. A large sombrero hanging over the door, flashing with green and red lights, is what catches the eyes of most people as they’re shopping or strolling in the Village. Once inside you are greeted by glowing jalapeno lights dangling from tall ceilings, a lively bar pouring margaritas and more sombreros hanging on the wall. Gonzalez Gonzalez has a relaxed, friendly feel and once in the main dining area, you’ll quickly notice many young couples out on a date and groups of friends dipping nachos into salsa and licking salt off the rims of their margarita glasses.

The menu offers a variety of Mexican dishes to choose from: the usual burritos, quesadillas, tacos and fajitas with sides of beans and rice. There are also salads, seafood and soups. Order the fajita to split with someone, order the shrimp quesadillas all for yourself.

This is a great place to kick back, get loud if you want to and spend a couple of hours pretending you’re in Mexico.
