The Best Restaurant in Kansas City! Remember Grandmas Cooking?

Ok if you happen to be in Kansas City Missouri and you love good old fashond home cooking, Then you have to eat at Stroud's. Picture a house that started out in the days of the settlers, Jesse James, Civil War era. The floors are unlevel and the ceiling is so warped you would think it was going to fall in at any time. You park in a parking lot made of gravel and notice 3 acres of land surrounding the resturaunt. There is a pond with ducks, A bake house, and trails that wind around the property. You will arrive early as you will need to plan on a wait of 10-30 min to eat but believe me it is well worth it.. Once inside the bar is about the size of the mens restroom but the dineing room is large and has a glass all around so you can look at the property as you eat. The wait staff is down home polite and very good. The choice of a salad or soup is a no brainer in this situation its the homeade chicken noodle soup. The restuaraunt is known for its Chicken (Fried) and it has been known to bring my wife to tears it is so good. I love the pork chops so well that I have yet to order anything else. The sides are served family style in large bowles that get refilled as fast as you empty them. The homeade mashed potatos and chicken gravy is heaven. The cost is reasonable my family of four adults normally pay less then $70 including tip.

I lived in KC for nearly fifteen years and truly miss this iconic KC restaurant. When ever I visit home, this is one of my must eat at restaurants. They are famous for pan fried chicken, but I can't forget the homemade cinnamon rolls and chicken noodle soup. It's moderately priced and atmosphere is simpley unique with rough wood floors and lots of friendly hospitality.
