This is a lively little self-service vegetarian café located in the basement of the Burlington Rooms on the campus of Manchester's Victoria University. The ambience is basic, informal and friendly, with wooden chairs and tables covered with plastic table cloths, but it attracts a large and varied clientele on account of its generous portions and very reasonable prices.

The menu is varied on a daily basis but is generally a standard price of around £3. There are also cheaper snacks on offer, such as home-made soup with crusty French bread. Filter coffee and tea is available and cakes are around 70p per portion. Other desserts, such as fruit crumble with custard or ice cream come in at about £1.20.
