This cosy open-plan café bar and restaurant has two distinct sections: the front is for coffee, newspapers and daytime snacks and the muslin-draped back area is perfect for sophisticated evening dining.

Business people, students and shoppers of all ages are attracted by the excellent value two- and three-course lunch and dinner menus, with choices such as home-made soup of the day, chicken kiev with butter bean mash and summer berry brulee. Wines cost from £9 a bottle and there are both draught and bottled beers on offer, including Stella Artois.
