Description
This fine 18th century stone pub-restaurant is situated in the stunning Pennine foothills high above Oldham and is renowned throughout the region for the quality of the food on offer. A free house with a warm, welcoming bar serving brasserie-style meals, the highlight of the place is undoubtedly the delightful restaurant. With its oak beams, subtle lighting, lemon yellow walls and varnished wooden floor the atmosphere is both sophisticated and relaxing.
The menu is eclectic, covering everything from fresh Scottish oysters to home-smoked rump of lamb, to a selection of the Saddleworth Sausage Company's finest with crushed new potatoes. There is a decent wine list and as a free house it serves a good choice of real ales including Flowers IPA and Wadworth's 6X.
