Authentic Mexican food amid all the Americanized chain restaurants is very welcome, specially in the main road of this beach resort.

You can have a modest and cheap breakfast starting at 23 pesos (March 2006), or you can have the house specialty: the Molcajete, is so big you need a pal to share if you don´t want to leave any leftovers.

The molcajete mentioned above is the house specialty and has a bit (well a chunk) of almost everything from grilled steak to chicken, chorizo (spicy sausage), pork chop, nopales (edible cactus), all grilled with tomato, onion and bathed in green salsa. The molcajete is a stone mortar and is huge, it is used to grind the salsa and then is used again to serve the dish at the table, keeping the food hot for a longer period.
Other things on the menu are pozole (hominy soup, very Mexican), menudo (tripes stew) all the way to enchiladas.

The food is good quality and has the real Mexican taste, is not americanized at all, so is a great place to safely try the real thing.

Being on Costera Miguel Aleman (the main avenue connecting all the Acapulco Bay) is a big plus for all the tourists, is easily reachable and the prices are low by touristic standards although being on the main touristic area.
