Delicious Parisian cooking awaits you at the top of the curvaceous "Fred and Ginger" building. Friends told us that they rotate international chefs flown in monthly. Their heavenly haute cuisine can be had at Hollywood prices. Views, which should be stunning from this crow's nest locale atop Frank M Gehry's `Fred and Ginger' building, are, ironically, the only disappointment - somehow cutting-edge design called for smallish recessed windows. From the outside, they look like they were pushed out.
The interior of the main room is washed with soft tones of lilac and sea green - and rather cheesy nude photographs. The semi-private dining room at the very top (we found out later) has a riveting view over the river.
Try the red snapper Provençal, freshwater candát (pike perch), or tournedos of beef Béarnaise. Moravian wine was pleasing. Dinner for 2 with drinks and wine was less than $75.00 which to this New Yorker was reasonable, considering. To put it in context, I don’t think the sum total of the next 3 Czech restaurants came to that.
Make reservations as early as you can. You might also want to dress up for this experience.
