Description
After taking in a play at the Market Theatre, pop into Gramadoela's African Restaurant for lunch, dinner or a drink. Situated in the building which used to serve as the city's produce market, the restaurant has hosted the likes of David Bowie, Hilary Clinton, Nelson Mandela and Elton John. Although Gramadoela's specializes in Cape Malay cuisine, dishes from around the African continent are on offer. The adventurous diner can tuck into a plate of mopani worms, eat crocodile steak or sample some ostrich. Those with more conservative tastes can choose from a selection of vegetable curries, couscous, seafoods and stews.
