Description
It's usually best to be suspicious of places that style themselves “gourmet”, as they're often either lying or use the adjective as justification to charge a small fortune. This restaurant, however, is an exception on both counts. Its Kashmiri owner has developed a menu concentrating on Indian and Pakistani cuisine, but British, French and Italian fare is also offered. As a recommendation, the tandoori fish is hard to beat, being a fresh alternative to the sorry frozen variety so often served up in your average Indian restaurant. All food, like the hotel itself, is well presented, and only the middle-class muzak drifting over the speakers might grate. Main meals are certainly worth the £11 you'll pay.
