Description
Established in 1971, this restaurant must have been doing something right for the last 30 years. It changed its name after the phenomenal rise in popularity of balti cuisine in the 1980s, a balti being the name of the dish your meal is served in (it means bucket in Hindi). The style of cooking originated in Birmingham, not north India as many think, and is unrivalled in any other city. Typical dishes include balti chicken masala and tropical balti - a mixture of prawn and chicken in spicy tomato sauce.
