A sister restaurant to the much larger Thai Edge in Brindleyplace, Thai Mirage suffers by comparison in no way other than size. Indeed, the sumptuous menu offered here is just as extensive, the staff just as unobtrusively attentive and scrupulously polite, and the standard of cooking is as near faultless as you'd hope. There is seating for about 50 diners and creative use of space on two levels means you do not feel cramped when it's busy. The décor is stunningly modern, using a little colour to maximum effect, and there's a pervasive sense of calm throughout. Starters, including fried pig's cheek (recommended), are around £5-8 and main meals are mostly about the £10 mark - although various fish dishes are more expensive. The best thing to do, however, is to stop reading about it and go experience it for yourself.
