The owners of Hao-Ji, a spotlessly clean and air-conditioned little eatery, believe in focusing on one dish only, doing it well and selling it cheaply. The specialty here is ro-yuan, a kind of glutinous savory meat pudding, served hot with sauces and a sprinkling of parsley. The only other items offered are fish ball soup and fine noodles with mushrooms. This place is ideal for anyone eager to try one of Taiwan's traditional snacks, but who can not quite bring him or herself to eat anything prepared in the colorful chaos of a night market.
