Sawasdee Sumiyoshi

Description

Although the name is a mixture of Thai and Japanese, everything else about this restaurant is genuine Thai, from the chefs to the decor and, most importantly, the food. And be warned, there is no pandering to those whose palates prefer their curries to be bland. The tom yum kung, which costs JPY1,800, will have you reaching for your chilled Singha, and the paa panen, a Thai chili stir-fry with chicken, beef, pork or shrimps' will have you wiping your brow with each mouthful. But it is worth it. There is a full complement of drinks, both alcoholic and non-alcoholic.
