Opened in 1969, La Taverna is described by the management as a ristorante Italiano. Whether you agree or not, you have to admit the food is good enough to feed a native-born Italian. The menu leans heavily toward the cuisine of Tuscany, the area around Siena and Florence, known for meat dishes and many varieties of Chianti. Both a hearty osso bucco and a robust Chianti Classico can be found at La Taverna, along with generous servings of pasta and creamy desserts. The decor is unmistakably Italian, with an ambiance that is highly conducive to eating.
