Description
This restaurant is located in an idyllic setting, just 1km outside Clifden on the Ballyconneely road, overlooking the Clifden estuary and undulating moors surrounded by mountains. The building itself sits on Doonen Hill, and is warm and accommodating with a cedar conservatory for pre-dinner drinks. The homely wooden furnishings extend into the dining area where four huge windows give excellent views of the surrounding area.
The menu has something for everyone, including Connemara Lamb and vegetarian dishes. Seafood is also a speciality. Nearly all fruit, vegetables and herbs used here are organically grown in gardens nearby. Unusually and unfortunately, the restaurant is closed between May and October.
