Cafe Riviera serves up plentiful helpings of freshly grilled vegetables, pastas, and meat dishes. As a vegetarian, I was pleased with the number of non-meat dishes available, such as a vegetable platter with mini quiche and vegetables grilled to perfection, including eggplant, spring onion, tomato, and a small ear of corn. The penne pasta with vegetables is delicious and filling. Spaghetti with pesto and veal Milanese are also offered.
Typical of Guatemalan restaurants, although less so in tourist-conscious Antigua, the service can be painfully slow. But the staff is friendly, and the Italian owner/chef speaks English.
