Best Meal of Our Trip!

My husband saw an advertisement for Oyster Seafood Restaurant and Bar, and like the seafood lovers that we are, we charged in. It was a Thursday afternoon, 2:30pm to be exact, and they had a Lunch-Special that consisted of a large skirt-steak, salad, with your choice of Tostones with Chimmichuri sauce, or rice and beans, for ONLY $6.99! The Chimmichuri sauce on the Tostones was to die for, the best topping I've ever tasted. The Skirt-Steak was succulent. We then ordered a bucket of 15 raw oysters, for $14.99, that came with sides of lime slices and tarter sauce. My husband and I sucked up those delicious oysters as if we were in an eating contest. By the time we were done, we could hardly move. We enjoyed ourselves tremendously. I would recommend this spot to anyone that would listen.

This place is a hangout for a young crowd under 25 years old, which is probably why the service was SO LAID BACK. The waiter took forever just to bring us a dozen oysters, and we had to waive to her every time we wanted to order something. The jambalaya was terrible!!! A very poor imitation of the real thing. It was supposed to be served with tostones, which were brought to the table after my husband had already finished the jambalaya.

We got there on happy hour, which is 5-7PM. The waiter took more than 1/2 hour to come to our table, so of course happy hour was over. We complained to the manager about the lousy service we were getting and all we got was two free drinks.

I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE AT ALL!!! It was the worst experience we've had in a restaurant.

All the oysters you can eat! Raw to Rockefeller. They offer mainly Louisiana style cusine with local flavors (conch and plantins). If you like crawfish be sure to try a plate. They are a hopping nitespot on Fridays and Saturdays. The shrimp garlic entree I tried was delicious.
