This place was recommended to us by a local resident. We were extremely disappointed in both the service and the quality of the food. We had a reservation and they seated us immediately, but our server was harsh and shamelessly rushed us through dinner, I assume so they could turn the table.

I should have known I was going to be disappointed when meatloaf was the special. I would describe the food as what you would expect at a Caribbean-style diner or greasy spoon, and a bad one at that. The food we had (conch in butter sauce, Calypso wings, conch Creole, shrimp Creole, fungi, sweet potatoes, and stuffing) tasted like it had been cooking for days in aluminum pots or sitting under heat lamps. The fungi and sweet potatoes were even ice-cream scoop shaped! The salad that came with dinner was iceberg lettuce with an extremely anemic slice of tomato. There was no choice of dressing; it was served with ranch dressing a la Wishbone or Kraft. If I were a student in a Caribbean elementary school, this is the food I would expect to be served in the cafeteria.

I have a mixed review on the drinks. I had a mango margarita that was tasty, although quite skimpy. My hubby had a Grey Goose martini that had been watered down.

The two things I thought were pretty good were the fried plantains and the johnnycake (a fried bread), which came with my meal.

I've read plenty of good reviews for this place, and I just don't get it. Try it if you must, but be warned!
