This island institution is a favorite of both locals and vacation villa guests who want an easy take out meal after a day of sun and fun. The barbecued chicken, ribs and brisket come with either mild or spicy sauce, a side of potato salad, coleslaw or seasoned rice, and a soft roll. Look for Texas Pit BBQ carts at Red Hook, on Veterans Drive in Charlotte Amalie, and at Wheatley Center and Subbase, both located on the outskirts of Charlotte Amalie. No credit cards are accepted.
