If you want to eat and drink and not spend a fortune, go to the Greenhouse before 7pm for Happy Hour. Drinks are buy one, get one free. Appetizers are half price. Great deals and good fun.

The Greenhouse is right on the waterfront downtown. It has a noisy atmosphere with a mix of tourists and locals. The food was cheaper than most of the restaurants we went to and was very good. It is not the place to go for a quiet romantic evening.

We arrived just as happy hour began where drinks were 2-for-1 and appetizers were $3 off. We ordered bushwhackers and rum punches (island specialties).

The food portions were incredible! My calamari appetizer was delicious and by the time my gyro and salad arrived, I was already quite stuffed. My dining companions were also very delighted with their appetizers of nachos and mozza sticks and were also very happy with their mahimahi and swordfish dinners. Dinners included your choice of TWO sides. So much food!

The DJ was very good and was spinning a diverse selection of tunes. There was a contest to name that tune and I happen to recognize a Crowded House song and was the first one up to identify it. My prize: a bottle of rum!

Even after dinner and the dishes were carried away, we enjoyed an evening of mixed songs (retro, pop, 90s, alternative, hip-hop) as a background to engaging conservation among friends. We were disappointed that we had to leave a bit early since we had an early flight the following morning.

Definitely a memorable way to spend our last night of vacation.

When we are shopping in Charlotte Amalie, Iwealways like to go at least once to this restaurant. We were quickly seated, but no waitstaff ever came over to take our order. The waitstaff was spending their time talking among themselves. After being there for 20 minutes, we left. It was disappointing because the food is great there. We will give it another try when we return to St Thomas the next time.

We enjoyed The Greenhouse. Open-aired so filled with the light tropical breeze of the evening. Good service, good food and good prices. American & Caribbean cuisine. Relaxing and felt comfortable hanging/eating/drinking for hours. Lots of late-night hours but weren't able to take advantage of that. Maybe next time!
