Tocororo

Description

Located in the Miramar district, this is one of the city's more important restaurants, which has been visited by tourists from the world over; it has a pleasant and modern ambience, with one main dining room, the Salon Sakura offering Japanese food and three private function rooms. Named after the national bird of Cuba –the Tocororo– the establishment is found in an area that also includes top hotels, and nightclubs popular among visiting tourists. The food here is inspired as much by local as by international cuisine, but with a surprisingly creative twist: nothing is written down on the menu, rather, you order a meal and the chef instantly creates a delicious and well-prepared combination; and if you want a cocktail, the house special is a mix of daiquiri with blue curazao, topped with a cherry. Decoration follows a tropical theme, interspersed with artificial tocororos perched all over this lively and good-natured restaurant.
