Description
With African dishes that have more than just a pinch of Asia, La Fiancée du Pirate (The Pirate's Fiancée) offers the best of both worlds. As a starter The Devil's Advocate, avocado mixed with boiled egg, spices, peppers and coconut milk stands next to a salad of duck stomachs candied with ginger. One of the main courses is Ravitoto, a mixture of crushed manioc leaves, palm butter, cane-sugar and coconut milk. The surprise menu for a minimum of six people offers an assortment of three dishes, dessert and drinks. In this one and only Madagascan restaurant in Belgium, Alain Cooreman (the pirate himself) offers an extensive wine list besides a variety of prepared rums with vanilla, cinnamon, lime or ginger.
