Description
You didn't always get an unrestricted view of the Rhine from the guesthouse Zum Goldenen Sternen. The oldest guesthouse in Basel used to stand somewhere quite different - it had to move stone by stone from the Aeschenvorstadt, where it had stood from its construction in 1412, to the St. Alban Rheinweg.
In the summer you can sit in the garden and relax, watching the river flow by. The interior, composed mainly of halls with benches, has a medieval ambience. There is an extra 'off license' wine menu. The turbot under a potato crust can be highly recommended.
