Description
Thanks to its 1930s murals the 'Ship' can be recognised from afar. The images depict what harbour life was like in the past; when men still caught fish and had to lift heavy boxes. On the inside the spacious and dimly lit bar is not that original as far as decor is concerned. It has been decorated like numerous other bars, with lots of advertisements for beer.
The food served is Swiss and the portions are hearty. Most of the people that come here on a regular basis are locals, harbour workers and shopmen and 'Ländertreffs' are held here on the first Tuesday of every month. Swiss music is played at full volume. Guests that prefer something more modern can come to one of the Jazz matinees. These are held on the last Sunday of every month.
