The Plantanenhof can be found in the midst of the many chemical companies that are situated in Basel and the regulars that come here bear witness to the fact that this is well and truly an oasis. Moreover, many of the people that frequent the restaurant tend to be lefties or members of the city's cultural brigade.

Charlotte (the owner) and her team of staff wait on guests in an uncomplicated and friendly manner and all of the food is 100% home made. In the summer, the garden area is a popular place to lounge around under the chesnut trees (previously, plane trees grew here - hence the name 'Plantanenhof') and there is also a bowling alley.
