Description
The Burgtaverne is located in the medieval Burg Hasegg, the symbol (and most-loved postcard motif) in the town of Hall. There has been a restaurant of sorts here since the 15th century, and the vaults and one of the wooden ceilings in the restaurant are original and date from the times when this local first did business. Decent middle-European fare is served in these historically poignant surroundings—dishes such as Wienerschnitzel with parsley potatoes and roasted medallions of pork in chanterelle sauce. The wine list is a healthy mix, with a dozen or so reds and ten white wines of various origin. There is a large, lazy garden for guest use—the scene of music and theatre performances sometimes in the evenings. A 'knight's room' is available to hire for functions.
