Kantijl en de Tiger

This is an Indonesian rice table and an extremely filling, fun and delicious evening. The menu is based on three different rijsttafel, with a profusion of meat, fish, and vegetable dishes varying in flavor from coconut-milk sweetness to peppery hot. While they have other ala carte dishes, this is by far the most fun and the best deal. When we got the bill we were amazed that the cost on the menu was for 2 people, not one. It was very busy when we went so make reservations.

A wonderful Indonesian restaurant, fairly new. It is very hip and always crowded. The service is good and caters to both locals and tourists. Nice after a long day of shopping.

Kantjil

This was the best Indonesian food that I have ever eaten. Since dining at Kantjil, we have been on the search for something similar and have not been able to quite reach it! Every taste was unique and not too spicey. From the rice dishes, to vegetarian, to shrimp and even desserts, all of it was served with style. The atmosphere is art deco modern. Our only complaint was the smoke as it was a bit smoke filled and crowded even though there was a non smoking section. It was well worth it and we crave the tastes always, but still have not found anything close!
