This is the place to have Indonesian food in Amsterdam. There is a doorbell at the entrance and if you don't have reservations, they will likely turn you away as it is very popular. The food is extremely good, they will make it as spicy or mild as you like and the service is extremely attentive and good natured. You can enjoy a leisurely meal as there are no diners waiting for your table making you uncomfortable. If you haven't had the famous Rijstafel (Rice Table), you're in for a treat. I have eaten here with vegetarians and a friend with celiac's disease, no problem, just let the hostess know. It is not cheap but well worth the price.
