Located in chic Sakyo-ku, Liquor Mountain Shirakawa Brewery is a little bit of everything--part imported food delicatessen, part world beers and wines cornucopia, part restaurant. You can sample some of the local beers brewed on the premises or a quick espresso at the counter bar, or shop for exotic wines and cheeses. Then there is the European-style restaurant with a range of enticing fare including pasta, meat grills and salads from around JPY1,000. It is a great place to relax after temple-hopping in nearby Higashiyama.
