For authentic Indian food in an attractive setting, this elegant Indian restaurant makes for a wonderful place to splurge. The food and service are as one would expect from a restaurant operated by the Oberoi chain - excellent. The ornate dining area features authentic Indian furnishings and handsome woodwork detailing. A live vocalist performs pop and Arabic tunes after 9.30 pm.

It's hard to go wrong here, as all the food is delicious. Don't miss the baingan bharta (creamy smoked eggplant baked in a clay oven and perfect for dipping fluffy naan bread in) for EGP 13. The murgh tikka (succulent and wonderfully spiced chicken kebabs marinated in yoghurt) at EGP 28 is always a good pick. There are several fixed meals to sample, and a small but tantalising dessert menu.
