Dyspensa

Description

The recently opened Dyspensa is likely to become one of the most fashionable restaurants in Warsaw.

The stylish interior resembles an old Polish tavern or karczma. It is decorated mostly in wood with shelves bearing colorful bottles and jars full of strange fruit and pictures hanging on the walls. There are numerous tables (for four or two people) dotted around. The dishes served in Dyspensa are delicious - merely looking at the menu is enough to get you hungry. Dishes include shrimps grilled with garlic, aubergine cream with gorgonzola and veal in tuna sauce. And these are just the starters. The main courses include roasted veal with apples and sour cream dressing, deep fried dumplings, steamed vegetables and potato cakes with caviar - delicious. For dessert, there is - amongst other things - tiramisù, cheesecake and ice-cream as well as a wide range of drinks e.g. vodka, aperitifs, beer, wine and soft drinks. Although the food is fabulous, Dyspensa is a fairly expensive restaurant: the appetizers are around 18-30 zł, the main courses are 42-55 zł, while desserts cost around 20 zł. Wines are a startling 68-3500 zł a bottle while other drinks are also rather expensive (water costs 5 zł a glass).
